Billy Bishop Goes to War Written and composed by John MacLachlan Gray with Canadian star of stage and TV screen, Eric Peterson, the multi-award winning Billy Bishop Goes to War is a Canadian classic dramatic musical comedy. Starring Matt Evans, this production has consistently received double encores from theatre audiences and has been dubbed, ‘My favourite Billy Bishop production ever!’ by Diana Bishop, granddaughter and a former producer of CBC, NBC and CTV. Matt has enjoyed a very full and rewarding career on both stage, screen and television. He has appeared in Murdoch Mysteries and other similar series as well as multiple Canadian feature films and on stage playing a multitude of characters such as Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird among many others, and now Billy Bishop. He is accompanied by Michael Mulrooney on piano, also a seasoned veteran of the stage as a musical director, conductor, pianist, arranger and composer on over 200 theatrical productions. In honour the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy, Meaford Hall is proud to work in partnership with the Billy Bishop Museum on a collaborative Gallery exhibit for a fully immersive experience. Through humour, drama and song, this comedic, musical, drama, starring Matt Evans, weaves a narrative that explores the challenges, fears and triumphs of a young man thrust into the epicentre of one of the world’s most devastating conflicts.
