The Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom featuring Whiskey Jack - October 5 @ 7:30 pm $35
Since Whiskey Jack’s Duncan Fremlin walked into Stompin’ Tom’s furnace room the spring of 1990 and shook Tom’s hand for the first time, he didn’t realize the ensuing decades of escapades would become the stuff of legend and supply him with enough tales and adventures to feed one of the longest running shows on the Canadian music landscape, Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom. Now in its 9th year, Duncan and his cast of characters offer up a soundtrack and a story board that will titillate and entertain Canadians from all walks of life. Sharing a stage with Tom for all those years is evident in this fast moving and humour laced 2 hours. Tom even drops in throughout the show just to make sure everyone is “havin’ a good time... that’s the main t'ing”. When he said yes to joining Tom’s musical family, Duncan didn’t know he was volunteering for every job imaginable - banjo player, singer, back-up band, guardian of the plywood, body guard, drinking buddy, tour manager, straight man, stooge and more. Along with the personal backstage stories, this show features all the hits -The Hockey Song - Bud The Spud - Sudbury Saturday Night - performed by the top musicians in the country. Those years with Stompin' Tom were the seeds that blossomed into the show they tour with today, Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom. A wonderful night of great music and fun!
